Petrolimex awards scholarships to HUST students for 2024-25 second semester

On April 28, 2025, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/ Group) awarded scholarships to 20 students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). The scholarships are in recognition of their excellent academic achievements during the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year and their fulfillment of selection criteria established by Petrolimex.
Attending the ceremony to present the scholarships, representatives from Petrolimex included Deputy Director General Nguyen Ngoc Tu, along with leaders from the departments of Human Resources, Business Policy & Wholesale, Petroleum Engineering, Research & Development, Technology & Safety, and Finance & Accounting.
Representing Hanoi University of Science and Technology were Associate Professor Huynh Dang Chinh, the University's Vice President, accompanied by the Head of the Student Affairs Office; deans and vice deans of the School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, and the School of Chemistry and Life Science. The 20 students who received the Petrolimex scholarships were also in attendance.
Under a Memorandum of Cooperation signed on April 23, 2024, Petrolimex and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) have launched a new scholarship programme. Beginning in the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, Petrolimex awards 20 scholarships each semester to high-achieving HUST students who meet the Group's criteria. This initiative is designed to recognise and motivate students with excellent academic and personal development records. In addition to financial support, the partnership will provide HUST students with valuable internship and career opportunities at Petrolimex, establishing a strong source of talents for the Group.
Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice President of HUST, highlighted that the Petrolimex scholarship is more than just financial aid. "It represents the deep commitment and partnership Petrolimex has with HUST," he said, "nurturing a new generation of talented, ambitious, and innovative students, and empowering them to grow with confidence."
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, Deputy Director General of Petrolimex, stressed that people have always been central to the company's success over its nearly 70-year journey. He expressed his hope that HUST graduates will become the future talent that drives the Group's technological progress, as well as its critical digital and green transformations.
"This path," he noted, "is perfectly aligned with both national trends and Petrolimex's long-term vision for sustainable development."
